ABX Air, Inc was formerly Airborne Express. a cargo airline. ABX Air operates scheduled flights, charters and ACMI freight services. The airline was established in 1980 when Airborne Freight acquired Midwest Air Charter. ABX started in 2003 as part of the merger of DHL and Airborne. In 2007 the airline entered into an agreement to acquire Cargo Holdings International, the parent company of Air Transport International (ATI) and Cargo Capitol International Airlines. ABX Air is a subsidiary of a holding company Air Transport Services Group.
