Purchased Dixie Airlines in 1972 and name changed to SkyWest Airlines. Acquired Sun Aire Lines in 1984. Bought ASA Atlantic Southeast Airlines in 2005. The airline flies as a feeder airline for United Airlines, US Airways and Delta Airlines. SkyWest is one of two airlines owned by SkyWest, Inc. The other airline is ExpressJet Airlines.
