Trans World Airlines Flight Service Manager Wing

This insignia consists of two pieces. The top portion was worn by pursers. When both portions were worn, then it was a Flight Service Manager Wing. Before the rule changes (after the 1986 strike), domestic FSMs wore the lower portion under the Flight Attendant Wing.

While the pilots wore their 2nd Issue, the Flight Attendants changed theirs three times. In this particular wing, there are two varieties. One where the bar below the wing is permanent and the other where the bar below is removable to enable change in title.

Formed in 1930 with the merger of Western Air Express, TAT & P.A.I.C to form Trans Continental & Western Airlines. Name changed to Trans World Airlines in 1950. Merged with Ozark Airlines in 1987. Merged into American Airlines in 2001
