US Airways Nord Captain Wing 1st Issue

With the 1976 contract, there was a new distinction made between the junior M298/Nord captains and the senior/mainline captains by removing the wreath from the junior Nord captains wings.  

Washington, D.C. 1937-Current

Founded as All American Aviation doing mail pickup. Name changed to All American Airways in 1949 when they started passanger service. Name changed to Allegheny Airlines in 1952. Name changed to USAir in 1979. Name changed to US Airways in 1996. Absorbed Lake Central Airlines in 1968 when the Nord aircraft were were absordbed by Allegheny. The Mohawk Airlines merger occured in 1972. In 2005, merged with America West Airlines who is the surviving carrier and name will remain US Airways. Airline started in DCA but had many other bases.
