United Air Lines Pilot Wing 1st Issue
Usage 1931-1941
This wing is the same as the Northwest Airlines wing which was worn by many of the airlines at that time except that it has United Airlines stamped on the inside of the wing.
Airline began as holding company called United Aircraft and Transport
Company for these airlines: Boeing Air Transport, Varney Air Lines, Pacific Air
Transport and National Air Transport. Name changed to United Air Lines in 1931.
Merged with Capital Airlines in 1961.
